Most patients complete 4-6 weekly 20-minute sessions of Emface Eyes, followed by maintenance every 6–12 months. Exion Face (RF + Targeted Ultrasound) treatment is a bit more customized and usually takes about 10 minutes per eye + surrounding area. Most patients opt to treat the entire face and neck with Exion, for a more symmetrical, overall younger appearance. It should be noted that the more fibroblast stimulation we can achieve, the better the overall result. And the longer it lasts! Fibroblasts are the cells that produce collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. These guys get a little lazy as we age. Exion wakes them back up again, getting that production up like it was 10-15 years ago.

For Emface, No. You’ll feel a warm, light pulsing or tapping sensation—similar to a “warm stone massage.” No injections, no recovery, no social downtime. You don’t even need numbing!

Exion is a different technology (RF + Targeted Ultrasound), which is the next generation of skin tightening, anti-aging technology after Ultherapy (which is ultrasound only, no RF). We won’t lie, it’s spicy. If we can maintain a dermal temperature of 42 degrees Celsius, we don’t need as many treatments. We numb you, of course. But everyone’s tolerance is individual to them. Just keep in mind, lower temp = more treatments for optimal results.

As for downtime, you’ll feel like you have a mild sunburn for a few hours to a couple days. The interesting thing is you won’t look sunburned, just feel it since the layers we’re heating are well below what you see (dermis vs epidermis). You may look a little pink for a few hours after treatment, but it fades quickly.

For many patients yes — particularly when loss of muscle tone and skin laxity, rather than deep volume loss, are the main issues.
